Determine your skin type

Determine your skin type quickly and easily – if you would simply like to know about the present state of your skin:

In the morning after getting up, push a thin tissue paper during some seconds onto your face:

  • Dry skin: if there are no signs on the tissue paper, you have dry skin.
  • Oily skin: a complete, shiny imprint of your face on the tissue indicates oily skin.
  • Combination skin: there will only be a shiny imprint of the area of your forehead, nose and chin (T-Zone), if you have combination skin. The cheek area is very dry.

Evaluation

Sensitive skin produces little fat, the horny layer is especially thin and has only few protecting pigments. External and internal stress factors can cause skin irritations. This type of skin can become even more sensitive through the wrong care, mental stress, or through exposure to coldness and sun.

Dry skin is soft, fine pored and rosy in younger years. However, from the age of mid-twenty on, it produces less fat to the forming of a protective skin film. It thus needs both fatty creams and a lot of moisture. This skin type tends to tension feelings, irritations, early wrinkles and minor scaling.

Combination skin, also called normal skin, often develops from youthful, oily skin that tends to blackheads. The T-Zone of the skin is often fatty and oily. The cheeks are often very sensitive and tend to tighten.

Oily skin is often greasy during the younger years; this is due to an overproduction of hormones. An increasing Testosterone production activates the sebaceous glands that have been inactive until this point. It is important to soften and to dissolve the overproduced Keratin. This will lower the skin’s inflammation susceptibility and aims at normalizing the sebum production.

The hypersensitive / allergic skin: hypersensitivity and hyperergy are an abnormally increased nervous functioning and reaction of the skin to outer and inner influences. A light irritation usually causes a light counter-effect, stronger irritation, however, will lead to a stronger reaction! This is different with hypersensitivity. In this case, irritation is felt to be stronger than usually. This excessive skin reaction to irritation is called hyperergy. This type of skin needs to be soothed, balanced and normalized.

The right way to beautiful skin

Almost every woman dreams of beautiful, groomed skin. But the skin is a highly-sensitive organ that reacts promptly to external and internal stress factors. Your skin shows well your temperament, your mood and how you care for yourself. Moreover, facial skin is often exposed to many harmful exterior influences; and there are other factors such as stress and poor nutrition which can cause further irritation of your skin. In order to stay young and beautiful as long as possible, your face needs more than just daily cleaning. It is important for you to assess your personal skin type, to provide the right care for your skin and to give a little something special to your skin every now and then.

Composition of the skin

The body skin is not only our most sensitive organ but with its surface of 1,5 to 2 square meters also by far the biggest one we have. Our skin consists of three layers that have the same structure: the subcutaneous tissue, dermis and the epidermis. The facial skin, however, is considerably thinner.

Your skin is only well-nurtured if you feel good in it. The individual needs for care can be very different and they change over time. Genetic factors, environmental influences and the living circumstances play an essential role. Therefore it is important that you first assess your skin type, before ordering the right care products.

Skin types and their respective needs

In order to always provide the right care for your skin, it is important to know that your skin type changes over time and even from season to season.
